I duplicated my backup routine once more to get another full, verified, image, and that one did not show an error, so I think (hope) I have a good backup image I could restore.
Wary of what might be going on, for the next backup, right after completing it, I went to the restore tab and picked the full, verified, image I had just created, and it showed that error. I explored other images, and found ANOTHER that had the same error indicator. I always do a FULL backup with most of the default settings - except for ticking the verification box and adding a comment. When I investigated further, Macrium reported that the error was something like it could not find the final file of a multi backup set. While in the process of doing an image backup for one of them, I was in the restore tab of Macrium (where it starts up) and was looking through previous full verified images when I noticed that one had a triangle with an exclamation point in it (indicating an error). I do a FULL backup WITH verification for them. I use the latest version of Macrium to image them before applying patches. I have three almost identical laptops with Win 7 on two, and win 10 on the other. (Hope this is the correct place for this question.)
